Job Evaluation
1. The job is rated keeping in view such factors as responsibilities, experience, qualifications, skills, working conditions etc required for performance of the job.
2. Job is rated before employee is appointed
3. Purpose is to establish satisfactory wage differentials
4. Not compulsory
5. JE comittee & experts does JE
Performance Evaluation
1. Employee is rated on the basis of performance.
2. Performance evaluation takes place after the employees has been hired & placed on the job.
3. Purpose is to reward, award, punish, assess training need.
4. Compulsory & done regularly
5. Performance evaluation is done by peers, employee themselves, supervisors, group of people or combination of these.
